Here at Tamaki Heritage Experiences, we have been working tirelessly to position New Zealand as a story book, with our experiences in each region throughout the country, representing a very different chapter, time and place within our book. Based on a true story regarding real characters through actual events, you are now able to follow the untold story of the struggles and challenges of a people coming to terms with dramatic change.
Tamaki Heritage Group has created three physical settings, each in a different era of time, based on the three series of the novel story of The Chronicles of Uitara. Upon arriving at each major location, (Rotorua, Christchurch....and very soon Auckland) an entire re-enactment is carried out to the backdrop of Pre-European Maori villages, shanty huts and early pioneering settlements, by the very decedents of the people we read about in each chapter of our book. The cultural experiences that unfold at each of our encounters relate directly to that specific region, tribe and event within our history.
