In 2012 /2013, Tamaki Heritage Experiences will present Chapter 1— The Arrival, to avid fans in Auckland. Currently under construction, the journey will take visitors back to 3000 BC.
Prologue
From central Asia, to Lapita, from Western to Eastern Polynesia, relive the stories of the great migration to a promised land. Begin the journey back in time, back to where it all began... at the creation of all things. Set in an entirely undercover attraction, your cultural experience begins when you meet the indigenous storyteller, the one they call ‘ancient of days’. In a giant globe set before a still lagoon, alongside two great rivers, the world of the spirit opens up before your very eyes. Amazing flora and fauna, small villages of old Asia, lifestyles of early cultures and great migration stories are told to a backdrop of Waka (large canoes) gracing the waterways. Here, the most early of tribal people begin to tell their story.
Based on a true story, real characters and actual events, Tamaki Heritage Experiences present an amazing night of Maori cultural re-enactment your whole group will enjoy. The power of indigenous storytelling, coupled with stunning Maori cultural performance will leave visitors in awe.
